A Reason To Smile #WorldSmileDay

Smile Makers: Meet the Brand

Beauty, health, nutrition and wellness no longer standing in isolation rather, a more holistic approach to beauty considers skin, body and mind as a whole entity.  An important element of this includes sexual wellbeing; something that Smile Makers have been dedicated to since launching in 2013.

We caught up with the brand for National Smile Day and spoke with them about the health benefits of their products, their mission and got some top tips for choosing the right Smile Maker.

Sexual wellness and overall health

The wellness benefits of sexual activities reach far beyond plumped skin and flushed cheeks. From better intimate hygiene to pain relief, quality of sleep and self-confidence, solo sex and couple sex help us live happier and healthier lives.

Yet, despite these benefits and the changes brought about by the sexual revolution, the topic remains often taboo and has been preempted by the shady adult industry. It’s time we create spaces out of the shadow, and in broad daylight to start an open and respectful conversation about it!

Enter Smile Makers…
For a joyful and educated sexuality

Smile Makers has been created to normalize the perception of female sexuality and invite women to explore and enjoy their sexuality. They do so by developing quality sexual products for women: friendly vibrators and premium lubricants that you can now find on allbeauty

Firm believers that sex is a normal part of life and an important component of our well-being, Smile Makers sell their products exclusively in health, beauty and fashion stores. Never in sex shops. They also believe that to change mindsets around female sexuality, education is key. That’s why their work with experts of female sexuality to develop a reliable sex education called Vulva Talks. They embed this knowledge in their products to bring you the best possible experience!

Interested to start a journey of self-exploration? Here are their tips…

Things to consider to buy your first vibrator

First and foremost, when it comes to sex, nobody knows better than you what you like and want. But sometimes, we don’t even ask ourselves that question. Start there. Without prejudice or social pressure. It’s only you with yourself, and nobody will judge you! If you need a little help for that, take our quiz to get a personalized recommendation based on your preferences. 100% anonymous!

Other things to keep in mind:

 – What is it made of? The whole point of a sensual toy is to give yourself a great sensorial experience. So, it’s worth paying attention to the material used. Smile Makers vibrators are made of a silicone that undergoes a unique polishing process, making it incredibly smooth.

– Choose a body-safe product. Smile Makers are made out of super food-grade silicone, which means they are as safe for the human body as baby kitchenware.

– Don’t let the buzz ruin the mood. Bullet vibrators can be loud. Like really loud. Besides the fact that you might want to keep your me-time activities to yourself, it’s also quite annoying. With less than 40dB sound level, Smile Makers vibrators know how to keep a low profile.

Take the quiz now to find the Smile Maker for you!

Squalane Oil

We’re taking a look at one of the lesser-known plant-derived ingredients in beauty, Squalane Oil. If you’ve not heard of this unique skincare powerhouse before, read on to get a brief explanation of what it is, how it works, and who it’s for.

What is Squalane Oil?

Our bodies naturally produce a compound called squalene in the sebaceous glands. Squalene enhances the integrity of cells and reduces moisture loss, as well as being believed to have a host of potential medical benefits. Unfortunately, as we get older, the level of squalene produced by the body decreases, which is where squalane oil comes in.

The hydrogenated version of squalene, squalane oil has all the same benefits and can be applied directly to the skin. Because our bodies understand its chemical composition, it is absorbed and used easily, without irritation.

The oil itself is silky and glides on like as you’d expect from an oil, but absorbs quickly, leaving no greasy residue. Lightweight and incredibly hydrating, it can be used as part of your morning or evening moisturising routine.

Squalane oil can also be used on the face, body and hair.

Where Does it Come From?

Squalane oil has been used in eastern medicine for centuries. Originally harvested from the liver of sharks, today’s squalane oil comes from much more ethical sources.

Rice bran, amaranth seed, wheat germ, olives and sugarcane can all be used to produce a renewable, sustainable source of squalane oil. Thanks, science!

Who Can Benefit From Squalane Oil?

Squalane oil is one of those rare products that can genuinely benefit all skin types. It isn’t often that a skincare product is equally as well suited to sensitive dry skin as it is to acne-prone skin, yet squalane oil can claim both.

Dry and Dehydrated Skin

If you suffer from tight, scaly, dry skin which turns red if you so much as look at it the wrong way, squalane oil is a fantastic tool to have in your arsenal.

As well as increasing hydration and retaining the skin’s moisture, squalene oil is very lightweight. If you’re tired of heavy, greasy emollients, you might be surprised at how a few drops of this silky oil compares.

Oily and Acne-Prone Skin

Gone are the days when oil was considered a no-no for acne-prone skin. Many of the products used to dry out acne are astringents, which strip the skin of its naturally beneficial oils. Your skin then goes into overdrive to replenish the oils, and so the cycle continues.

Squalane oil not only anti-inflammatory but is non-comedogenic and hydrates the skin without creating a skin barrier. This allows the skin to breathe, reducing the risk of blocked pores and breakouts.

Combination Skin

In the endless battle to suit the needs of both oily and dry areas of skin, many of our allbeauty readers find that they have to prioritise one complaint over another.

The use of squalane oil helps to regulate excess oil production while still hydrating skin at a cellular level. Unlike many other moisturisers, squalane oil is able to promote hydration without creating an external skin barrier. This avoids the risk of blocking pores in oilier zones, making it ideal for combination skin.

Ageing and Sun-Damaged Skin

Whether due to age or environmental factors, most of us will eventually experience fine lines and wrinkles. While it may not be able to turn back the hands of time, squalane oil can certainly improve the skin’s appearance.

Skin cell hydration is one of the key ways that squalane oil helps ageing or sun-damaged skin, as plump skin show lines less readily. Containing antioxidants, the skin is also protected against free radicals and oxidisation – both of which speed of the ageing process.

If you’re interested in trying squalane oil for yourself, why not give Peter Thomas Roth Oilless Oil or Indeed Laboratories Squalane Facial Oil a try?  To view all of our Ingredients and read the full articles go to allbeauty.com

REVIEW; Sun Protection

We’d like to introduce to you, Antonia!

Antonia is a blogger & shares the things that she loves and indulges in the details that make life special. We asked Antonia about her favourite products when it comes to summer, find which multitasking product from Clarins is a must have…

HOLIDAY SUN PROTECTION

I’ve arrived in Menorca for my yearly summer break with my family and this post is a very quick roundup of the sun protection I’ve been using since I got here.

allbeauty have kindly partnered with me for this trip so the items I’ve listed are my picks from their holiday selection. I focused only on sun protection because this is a very relaxed break and I rarely get dressed up or wear any makeup when I am here so looking after my skin is my main concern.

FACE PROTECTION

You may know from following me on social media or reading other blog posts that I suffer with pigmentation. The minute the sun comes out, my face gets covered in uneven brown patches. I always use skincare products and makeup with an SPF but it makes little difference but yet battle on.

An exciting recent discovery is Ultrasun’s eye cream with an SPF of 30 which is also waterproof. I cannot recommend this enough, it’s not greasy at all and your crows’ feet will thank you for it. This is my hero product of the summer

For my face I chose Clinique’s mineral sunscreen, it reminds me a lot of this other one by Clarins It’s really lightweight, you barely notice you are wearing it and it’s great for days out and about, although you might want something more heavy-duty for long days at the beach.

I mentioned earlier that I suffer with pigmentation and to that end, I am road testing an anti-dark spot fluid from Nuxe. It’s too soon to tell whether this will help but I expect it to come into its own once I am back home in the UK.

HAIR AND BODY

Clarins has come up trumps with a multitasking product to protect both your skin and unruly locks from sun damage. It’s the sun care oil mist which is a dry oil with an SPF of 30. Multitasking products are worth their weight in gold and never more so than when luggage allowances are tight. My supply is going down quickly as I’m spraying it liberally. It gives your skin a nice glow and my hair a much-needed boost of moisture throughout the day. I doubt it will last the duration of the holiday but it’s a goodie all the same.

Where hair is concerned, I’ve been keeping my coloured and heat damaged hair in check with Swimcap from Philip Kingsley. It’s said to be excellent for blondes as it stops hair from going green in chlorinated water. The product was originally developed for the US Synchronised Swimming Team so you know it must be good.

It would be great to hear about the holiday skincare products you swear by so please let me know in the comments below!

30 Days of Guinot: Here’s What Happened

Our Beauty Editor took the Guinot challenge and used only Guinot skincare products for 30 days. Here’s what happened…

Double CleansingWhen it comes to skincare I’ll confess I’m fickle. At any one time my skincare (micellar water, cleanser, moisturiser, toner etc.) is all from different brands. And although cherry picking products can be the best of all worlds, I do wonder if there’s a benefit from using products created to work in sync with each other. To test this theory I set myself the task of using only skincare by one brand for 30 days. And since Guinot is one of my favourite skincare brands I decided on the ‘Guinot challenge’.

Guinot Challenge – Products I Used

Here are the only skincare products I used for the 30 days of the challenge. I used all products in this order, morning and night.

Makeup remover: Eau Demaquillante Micellaire
I always double cleanse so start with makeup removal. This micellar water has a soft, floral fragrance and easily removes makeup with just a few wipes on cotton wool. My bottle lasted about 8 weeks and I promise I was using it liberally! I wear contact lenses and this was 100% comfortable. My verdict: one of the best micellars I’ve used, 8/10

Cleanser: Lait Hydra Confort
Next was this thick and creamy cleanser – just apply to the face then rinse with water. With a soft rose scent it was a dream to use. I still have half the bottle left and I’ve been using it twice a day for over 8 weeks. In fact it’s become my go-to cleanser and I plan to stick with it! My verdict: absolutely LOVE, it feels like a treat each time I use it, 9/10

Toner: Lotion Hydra Confort
This toner for dry skin has a soft and fruity, floral scent. One of the main ingredients is glycerin which makes it super moisturising. Absorbs very quickly and given the high glycerin content makes a great pre-makeup primer. One bottle lasts around 12 weeks. My verdict: one of my favourite products and my skin loved it, 8/10

Pigmentation Serum: Concentre Anti-Taches
Pigmentation is one of my bugbears so I added in this step. Only a 15ml tube but you need a tiny amount so a little goes a long way. Still lots left and the tiny nozzle means you can target problem areas. My verdict: pigmentation is a marathon not a sprint, but areas of light pigmentation have already gone (yay!), I’ll continue to use, 7/10

Moisturiser: Creme Riche Fermete Lift
Guinot has a large range of moisturisers so I chose this one for dry skin with firming action. Super-rich and creamy with a soft scent, you only need a 5p sized piece for the whole face. My tube lasted about 10 weeks. My verdict: I really like this, it made my skin look plumped and healthy, absorbed well and was great under makeup, 8/10

Eye Cream: Age Logic Yeux
This eye cream from Guinot is a splurge, but I really wanted to give my eyes some extra support. The cream manages to be thick yet absorbs really fast. Best of all you need a teeny tiny amount for both eyes (use any extra on your lips). My verdict: I really liked this, it didn’t irritate my eyes at all, absorbed well and helped reduce fine lines, 8/10

Guinot Challenge – My Results

Guinot Challenge Empties
My Guinot ‘Empties’!

So did I notice anything using the same brand for 30 days? Well firstly my skincare felt more structured. I had a neat row of bottles and products that matched, instead of my usual mish-mash. And the texture and scent of each product worked so well with the next. Even though I was following a 6 step system, it seemed to work quickly – I can’t say why for sure, but it just flowed. The whole process took around 5 minutes from start to finish. My skin looked great and my dry patches vanished, which is testament to the great job that Guinot does. And although I have other favourite brands, there are products I loved that will definitely stay in my routine, such as the fabulous creamy cleanser.

Guinot Challenge – Shop Guinot

If you’d like to take the Guinot challenge you can shop all Guinot at allbeauty. And if the products I used aren’t quite right for you, Guinot has a large range of skincare for all skin types.

We Review: Redken Clean Maniac Micellar Shampoo & Conditioner

Our Redken Clean Maniac review trials the exciting new range to purify hair.

Our Beauty Editor Claire tried new Redken Clean Maniac Micellar Clean-Touch Shampoo and Conditioner for 2 weeks – here’s what she thought.

Shampoo, according to the dictionary, is a product that cleans the hair without leaving a soap film. But it’s fair to say, the actual cleaning part has almost been forgotten among colour treatments, deep conditioner, split end repair masks etc. etc. And with so much product in our hair, not to mention dirt, pollution, odours etc., there comes a time when you just need to stop and do a factory reset!

Redken Clean Maniac MicellarSaving the day is new Redken Clean Maniac – silicone and sulphate free, it uses magnet-like micellar technology (yep, the same micellar you use to remove your makeup) to neutralise bad smells, remove pollution, impurities, product residue, and excess sebum. For all hair types (and especially normal to greasy hair), it’s colour-safe and can be used daily. You can use it alone, as a pre-wash treatment or alternate it with your current hair care range. And to be honest, the thought of using a product to give my hair a truly deep clean, was very appealing.

Redken Clean Maniac – What I Did

Redken Clean Maniac Micellar Review After
My hair was soft, silky and smooth…

Starting with the shampoo, I was really surprised by the scent – or rather lack of! I was expecting something ‘clean’ but there’s very little noticeable fragrance (perhaps a slight apple scent?) So far so good. My hair is very long and completely unruly, so I began by wetting my hair and applying a tablespoon of product (but if you have short to mid-length hair then apply half that amount). There is a lather but it’s low-level, so don’t expect foam everywhere, but do expect a clean and totally non-soapy feel. After rinsing, my hair felt, um clean. I know, hardly a shock result (!) but that’s exactly how it felt – clean, washed, like hair. It was easy to rinse and overall a pretty quick process.

On to the conditioner… I wasn’t sure what to expect from this as my normal conditioners soften and detangle. What does a cleansing conditioner do? Again I applied a tablespoon, starting at the ends and moving up to the scalp. The conditioner is creamy when it comes out of the bottle but on application does something magical – it turns into an oil. Again, no overwhelming fragrance, but a soft clean feel. A quick rinse and all done. Now for the results…

Redken Clean Maniac – The Results

Redken Clean Maniac Micellar Review After
After washing with Redken Clean Maniac Micellar Shampoo & Conditioner – look at that volume and shine!

Straight after washing, my hair definitely felt different. It was soft but with a more honest, natural feel than usual. I’m used to my hair feeling super soft after a wash, but this was an almost ‘bare’ feel. There was virtually no scent to my hair either (I practically had to push it up my nose to detect anything!) The only downside was my hair needing a b

it more help with the comb to detangle it, but having thick and unruly hair, and not using a detangling shampoo, this wasn’t a surprise. To get a fair result, I left it to dry naturally with no product. The result? To my surprise, very soft, manageable hair. No frizz, no flat bits – my hair looked great!

Redken Clean Maniac Micellar Review Claire

Redken Clean Maniac – My Verdict

Although you can use Clean Maniac in between your usual Redken range, I’ve continued with it for the past 2 weeks. Partly to give my hair a super-deep clean and partly because my hair just feels so soft and strokeable! I really struggle to find shampoo and conditioner that gives it that feel, so to get it from a ‘cleansing’ shampoo seems odd but amazing. Overall an excellent experience – I’m giving Redken Clean Maniac a 9/10. I’ll switch back to my usual product at some point, but for now I’m just enjoying the sensation of really clean, really natural, soft hair.

You can shop all Redken Clean Maniac online at allbeauty – have you used the range? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.

We Review Philip Kingsley Flaky/Itchy Scalp Shampoo

Our Beauty Editor reviews Philip Kingsley’s best-selling Flaky/Itchy Scalp Shampoo, with surprising results…

Flaky/Itchy Scalp Shampoo from Philip Kingsley is the award-winning formula to relieve and clear flaking and/or itchy scalps. It’s available online at allbeauty.

Review Flaky/Itchy ShampooThis product couldn’t have come at a better time for me. For the past 6 – 8 weeks my poor scalp’s been slowly drying out, thanks to overuse of the hair dryer, sea-bathing, and the sun. At this point my usual shampoo’s just irritating my stressed-out scalp, with each hair wash followed by frantic towel rubbing to combat the itch. Then there are the dreaded flakes… I’ve had temporary success with hair oils but nothing that lasted. It seemed the only option was something medicated and unpleasant from the pharmacy.

Flaky/Itchy Scalp Shampoo

Flaky/Itchy Scalp ShampooI tend to wash my hair every 3 days, but Flaky/Itchy Scalp Shampoo can be used daily (and is suitable for use on coloured hair) –  great when you’re struggling with a sensitive scalp that needs extra TLC. As you can see from my pics, my hair’s struggling with some dryness and frizz and there’s a definite redness to the scalp.

Philip Kingsley Flaky/Itchy Scalp Shampoo: Using The Product

Flaky/Itchy Scalp Shampoo

Philip Kingsley keep things simple, with no complicated instructions or leaflets to read. I’m simply advised to wet the hair and lather well with a gentle kneading of the scalp and to rinse and repeat if necessary. The bottle itself has a fantastic flip-top lid (I tried the 250ml size) with a really neat dispensing nozzle. No waste here, the clear gel shampoo came out easily into my hand and had a lovely, fresh apple scent.

Flaky/Itchy Scalp Shampoo

There’s no advice on how much to use, so I guessed at a tablespoon. After the first application I didn’t find it was going very far and there was very little lather. I’ll admit though I do have long, thick hair so may have underestimated how much was needed. Plan B: I dispensed another tablespoon into my hand and this time lathered it up before applying. Success! The shampoo doesn’t lather as much as some products (no bad thing), but this worked for me. Taking the advice of ‘kneading the scalp’, I worked the product into my poor stressed head for around a minute and at this point I could genuinely feel a soothing sensation. Best of all – no itching! I finished with a cool rinse, patted my hair dry and left it for around half an hour before rough drying with a hairdryer.

Philip Kingsley Flaky/Itchy Scalp Shampoo: My Results

Flaky/Itchy Scalp ShampooAs soon as I towel dried my hair, I could tell there was no itch. And even after using the dryer, I wasn’t getting that dry, itchy sensation.  I was also happy to find the apple scent wasn’t overpowering, in fact my hair just smelt clean. What I wasn’t expecting was the amazing shine and my smooth, tangle-free, manageable locks!

Flaky/Itchy Scalp Shampoo

The shampoo promises to leave hair ‘shiny and manageable’ but what I got was hair that looked and felt conditioned and was so tangle free I couldn’t believe it. I could actually run my fingers through it without a comb! Unheard of for me! It was shiny, healthy and not an itch to be felt or a flake to be seen.

Flaky/Itchy Scalp Shampoo

2 Days later, my hair’s still free of the dreaded itch and I haven’t seen a single flake. I’m so impressed with the condition of my hair, I’m looking forward to seeing how it improves with regular use.

Overall I’m giving Philip Kingsley’s Flaky/Itchy Scalp Shampoo a solid 9/10.

Philip Kingsley Flaky/Itchy Scalp Shampoo: What Our Customers Said

I have suffered from a dry and itchy scalp for years and this is a must buy for me now. It’s the only shampoo ever to actually calm and sooth my scalp. So much so, I sometimes wonder if I have grown out of the condition and go back to trying other shampoos. Within just two hair washes I am back to being driven crazy by the itching again so I know it is this shampoo that is working for me – allbeauty Customer Jane

Lierac Homme Shaving Gel Review: What We Thought

We asked the guys at allbeautyHQ to review Lierac Homme Shaving Gel.

LLierac Shaving Gel Reviewierac Homme Shaving Gel review – our man tested the product for 2 weeks in place of his usual skincare. Here’s what he thought.

Part of the Lierac family, Lierac Homme is a range of skincare and grooming products just for men. A synergy of science and nature, Lierac specialise in helping problem and sensitive skin. So when Lierac Homme Shaving Gel landed on our desk, we asked allbeautyHQ head of logistics Shaun to test it out and put the brand through its paces.

Lierac Homme Shaving Gel Review – about the product

A softly scented gel, it contains the following natural extracts to calm and soothe skin:

  • Mint
  • Jojoba and Safflower oil
  • Vegetable Glycerine and Vitamin E

Lierac say:

This anti-irritating shaving gel is designed for sensitive and reactive skin. It turns into a creamy foam and softens the beard when shaving to ensure a perfect shave that leaves skin soothed, soft and protected.

Lierac Shaving Gel Review

We asked allbeautyHQ head of logistics Shaun to try the gel for 2 weeks in place of his usual shaving product. Shaun told us:

I have very sensitive skin and quite often after I wet shave I’ll then develop rashes / spots within 24 hours. My skin is left feeling really sore, despite using all kinds of shaving gels.

After 2 weeks of using the gel every morning, Shaun reported back. His verdict?

The Lierac Shaving Gel is really good!! It leaves my skin feeling really soft, smooth and refreshed, with no soreness whatsoever. It’s a big thumbs up from me and I’m now wet shaving continuously which isn’t something I’ve been able to do for a long time.

We Review: Vichy Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Serum

Our Aqualia Thermal review looks at the bestselling serum by Vichy Laboratories, especially for dry and sensitive skin.

Our Beauty Editor Claire gives us her VICHY Aqualia Thermal review.

VICHY Aqualia Thermal Review

As someone with normal to dry skin, I’m a huge fan of moisturisers and serums. And like the K-Beauty pack, I also believe that moisture is the key to great skin. So when a bottle of VICHY’s Aqualia Thermal Serum landed on my desk I grabbed it with both hands!

VICHY say: This intensive serum is formulated with hyaluronic acid and Thermal Spa Water to help calm dehydrated and sensitive skin and restore it back to its original comfort. Soft and lightweight in texture. Tested on sensitive skin under dermatological control, it’s hypoallergenic and contains no parabens.

The inclusion of hyaluronic acid is a bonus for me – this naturally occurring molecule is found in the body and especially the skin, where it’s responsible for tissue repair.  However, the reason you’ll see it in beauty products from dermal fillers to moisturiser, is because of its enormous ability to bind water to it. This not only moisturises the skin but also plumps it up.

Aqualia Thermal ReviewVICHY Aqualia Thermal Review – My Experience

VICHY Aqualia Thermal Review (1)
The serum has a light, milky texture – just enough left to show you!

VICHY say to apply the serum morning or evening onto cleansed skin. After double cleansing in the evening, I applied two pumps of the serum to my whole face, including the eye area. The serum has a soft texture and looks almost milky – some serums are very watery I find, but this has a little more substance which I like and makes it easier to tell where it’s been applied. I loved the immediate feel of the product on my skin, it was so silky and creamy and easy to work in. For me, the best part was the speed at which the serum absorbed. Around 10 seconds later it had all disappeared, leaving my skin looking and feeling nourished and balanced. I was hooked, but how would it fare under foundation? Next morning I applied 2 pumps again, to my whole face, after cleansing. I waited for 10 seconds and then applied my usual liquid foundation with a damp sponge. I’m happy to report my makeup went on beautifully and stayed on all day. Also, the serum alone was enough and I didn’t need any further moisturiser.  As the weeks went by I switched up how I used the serum according to my skin’s needs. When I felt it was needed I added a night cream over the serum and on some mornings I mixed the serum with my foundation to apply a lighter layer of makeup.

Overall I’m giving VICHY’s Aqualia Thermal a score of 9/10. I love the feel, the results and the way the product fits so well with my skincare and makeup regime. It also worked well as a lip moisturiser and I’ll confess to using a pump or two as hand cream…

Official Advert

The trailer for both Alyssa Ashley Hip Hop B-Boy and B-Girl fragrances embodies the energy and feel of the B-Boy/B-Girl scents:

Alyssa Ashley Hip Hop Fragrance: What We Thought

Alyssa Ashley Hip Hop B-GirlB-GIRL

On the first spray, the scent is very strong and overwhelmingly white floral, with labdanum (a leathery rock rose resin) very much in evidence. However, the fragrance quickly settles into a much softer white floral. In fact, after the dry down, it’s very subtle indeed. This scent reminds us of Guy LaRoche’s Fidji from back in the day, only not as strong. Very much a statement scent – some will find it too deep and sultry, but others will love its rich, musky, floral style.

Alyssa Ashley Hip Hop B-BoyB-BOY

This fragrance is classed as a citrus scent and it doesn’t disappoint! The initial spray reveals a wonderful burst of lemon, with vanilla coming through just behind.  However, there’s also a very sweet tone that’s almost sugary, which is probably down to the cinnamon. Very fresh and individual, the sugary quality lasts past the initial citrus burst and dries down to a soft leathery scent that’s very warm and smells fantastic on the skin.

We Review: New TIGI Bed Head For Men Lion Tamer

TIGI has unveiled new Lion Tamer beard and hair balm for men. Our TIGI Lion Tamer review puts the latest Bed Head offering through its paces.

TIGI Lion Tamer ReviewDeveloped by the TIGI creative team for hairdressers, barbers, and their clients, Lion Tamer is a hair balm and beard balm all in one. Offering light control, this balm conditions nourishes and softens both the hair and the skin. As a bonus, you can even use the balm on your hair to get a groomed look with light control and to nourish your scalp. The balm contains Sacha Inchi seed oil,
which is rich in essential fatty acids. Read our TIGI Lion Tamer review and tell us what you think in the comments below.

Lion Tamer Review: What We Thought

TIGI Lion Tamer ReviewWe asked allbeauty IT Director Stuart to test out the balm. Here’s what he thought:

A little goes a long way – I started off using a 10p sized piece but reduced this to a pea size.  It made my beard far more manageable and moisturised my skin all day, just from one application. Also, I was pleased to find there was no greasy feel. One thing to note: there is a noticeable scent to the balm which is pleasant but something to be aware of if that’s not your thing. Overall, Lion Tamer did everything it promised *thumbs up*

Lion Tamer Review: How To Use

  • Work a small amount of TIGI Bed Head Lion Tamer into your fingers and hands (we recommend about a pea size to begin with), then apply evenly through the beard and skin underneath
