Spring Fragrance Guide: Perfume Notes

As we enter SS20, it’s time to retire the heavy, warm fragrances of winter and turn to something that puts a hop in our step. At allbeauty, we stock thousands of decadent perfumes, and we know that narrowing down your options to a shortlist can be a tricky task! So, to help put you one step closer to finding your perfect signature scent, we’ve created this Spring Fragrance notes guide.

Choosing a Perfume Group

Entire collections of books have been written about the different olfactory groups, and many authorities have their own classification of subgroups, but we’ll endeavour to keep this as simple as possible! In general, there are four main perfume groups; floral, fresh, woody and oriental. For a Spring scent, we recommend opting for either floral or fresh and looking for additional woody base notes if you want a more masculine scent.

From here, we can look at subgroups to further narrow down the genre of fragrance. This will help to determine the notes you’re looking for in your perfume.

Refining Your Selection

Each scent family can be split down into more specific categories, some of which are heavier and some lighter. Lighter fragrances are best for Spring; so take a look at the description of each to see which appeals to you the most.

Floral

Nothing quite says “spring” like the smell of freshly cut flowers. Floral perfumes are the core group when it comes to fragrances for this time of year.
Common notes: rose, jasmine, peony, hyacinth

Our Favourite: In Love Again by YSL

Another combination of fruit and floral, In Love Again has mandarin and blackcurrant top notes, peony and rose mid notes and a base of musk and blackberry. Good enough to eat!

Shop all our Floral Fragrances from just £9.25

Fruity

Adding a sweet twist to traditional floral fragrances, fruity florals are a great choice for anyone looking for a refreshing, light perfume.
Common notes: apple, pear, peach, melon

Our Favourite: J’Adore Injoy by Dior

A fruity floral, Dior J’Adore Injoy has a top note of gourmet salt ‘Fleur de Sel’, mid notes of sambac jasmine, neroli, tuberose and ylang-ylang, and a base of ripe peaches. A delectable scent that will see you through the warm months.

Shop all our Fruity Fragrances from just £7.95

Citrus

Ideal for Spring, the citrus subgroup is zesty and tangy, ranging from sweeter notes of mandarin to earthier bergamot.
Common notes: lemon, orange, grapefruit, bergamot, mandarin

Our Favourite: CK One by Calvin Klein

The epitome of a unisex Spring fragrance, CK One combines green and citrus notes to create an award-winning perfume. Top notes include pineapple, papaya and bergamot, middle notes include jasmine, freesia and violet, while at its base are oakmoss, green tea and sandalwood.

Shop all our Citrus Fragrances from just £15.00

Once you’ve narrowed down the subgroup you’re looking for, you’ll be ready to start the hunt for your ideal Spring fragrance.

How To: Get Date Night Ready

Whether you’re new to a relationship or are trying to bring some romance back into your life, adding date night as a regular fixture in your calendar is a must. But if you’re anything like us, the pressure of getting all dolled up for a meal out with the other half can seem like more effort than it’s worth.

And it’s not just married date night grinches that find the build-up overwhelming. If you’re newly dating, the pressure to look just right, not too overdressed, not too casual, is a minefield.

Here’s a handy guide to getting date night ready with just a few easy tips.

1. “Be prepared”

Those boy scouts are onto a good thing with this handy motto. If you know it’s date night, leave yourself time to get ready. There is nothing worse than sweatily trying to apply eyeliner as your Uber waits outside. For bonus points, try to get to bed early the night before so you don’t find yourself dozing during the dessert course. A relaxing fragrance, like the Pillow Spray from ThisWorks, can be a great help for encouraging sleep.

2. Defuzz, or don’t

If you play your cards right, date night could easily become date morning. With this in mind it’s worth a last minute defuzz, if that’s the way you usually roll. Whether you epilate, shave or wax, avoid any unwelcome razor rash by applying a good quality moisturiser to the skin post-treatment. Clarins Moisture-Rich Body Lotion with Shea Butter is one fantastic choice.

Au naturale? You’re good to go!

3. Keep your makeup simple

First of all, let me preface this by saying if you enjoy putting on a full face of makeup before you go out, you do you girl! We are not here to tell you the ‘right’ way to get ready for date night, simply how to make the whole process as easy and breezy as possible.

With that in mind,  keeping your makeup simple is a great choice. A good mascara and bright lip (preferably kiss-proof) can go a long way, and take seconds to apply. Unless you have time to kill, date night is not the time to experiment with new eyeshadow techniques or to try out contouring. Play it safe, keep it simple and stay you,  your last-minute jitters will thank you.

4. Let your crown shine

Your hair is your crowning glory, make sure it’s looked after. Again, simplicity is key on date night, particularly if you have a small window to get ready in. A quick squirt of antifrizz or volumising spray will ensure you look great the whole night through, finished with a shot of setting hairspray depending on whether you plan on breaking some moves on the dance floor.

5. Pack the essentials

Finding the balance when it comes to packing a handbag is an intricate art that can take decades to master. However, a few tips for date night: you probably don’t need your entire purse complete with 4 different coffee rewards cards, but you probably do need gum (because garlic bread shouldn’t stand between you and your sweetheart), that new lipstick, your phone, and, ahem, any relevant protection, aka umbrella.

6. Treat every sense

We’ve saved this one until last because it’s too often forgotten. Smell is an incredibly powerful sense but can often be overlooked when it comes to romance. Before you head out the door, make sure you smell great, but don’t overdo it. When it comes to perfume, less is more. Which fragrance is best for date night? One that fills you with confidence. Living With Rosacea

If you suffer from rosacea, the chances are that you’ve already spent hours of your life researching everything you can about how to avoid flares and know more about the quirks of your particular variety of rosacea than your own GP does. If this is the case, feel free to skip to the next section.

However, if you’ve recently been diagnosed, or are trying to support a loved one with the condition, it’s helpful to have an overview of what rosacea is and how it can best be dealt with.

Rosacea is a common skin condition which is still poorly understood. It can come and go, with “flushing” being spread across the cheeks, forehead and chin, generally avoiding the eye and mouth area. It can also result in a stinging sensation, spots, visible blood vessels and/or permanent redness.

While we don’t know what causes rosacea, there are triggers which have been identified as making a flare more likely. They are:

  • Stress
  • Exercise
  • Alcohol
  • Caffeine
  • Sun exposure
  • Spicy foods
  • Hot drinks
  • Hot/cold weather

Living With Rosacea

There are a few things you can do to make living with rosacea more manageable. First of all, avoid the factors which trigger flare-ups. If you haven’t yet identified what your triggers are, keep a diary for a few weeks to help spot patterns – it’s mundane, but it can be incredibly helpful at pinpointing which events most upset your skin.

Woman writing in diary - Rosacea

Next, make sure you’re protecting your skin from the sun by using a sunscreen of at least SPF30. Even on cloudy days, the sun’s rays may harm your skin, so it’s best to get into the routine of wearing an SPF daily to completely eliminate the risk. You can find many sun-protection products which have been specifically designed for sensitive skin and redness, such as Uriage’s SPF30 Eau Thermale Anti-Redness Cream.

Being gentle with your skin is key when it comes to rosacea, whether that means protecting it from the elements or using ultra-mild cleansers. Men may also find that using an electric razor rather than a blade is less irritating for the skin.

How To Deal With Rosacea (Without Making It Worse)

When flares do happen, it can be tempting to reach for the heavy artillery, but dermatologists recommend avoiding steroid cream unless you’ve been instructed to use it by your doctor. While steroids are wonderful for targeting inflammation, they can thin your skin, which can ultimately make your rosacea worse, so they must be used only as needed.

If you want to use make-up to camouflage your rosacea, dermatologists also advise that you avoid anything water-proof or oil-based. Instead, opt for water-based skincare products where possible. We highlight some of the best options further below in the blog.

If your rosacea is proving particularly challenging and is significantly affecting your day-to-day life or mental health, there are other options you may wish to explore. UK based charity, Changing Faces, helps people with a range of conditions related to their physical appearance and can provide camouflage makeup to rosacea sufferers. If you’d like to explore this service you’ll need a referral, so make an appointment with your GP to discuss this further.

Clinical Treatments for Rosacea

While there isn’t any cure for rosacea, many people find that clinical intervention can help to control their condition or reduce the occurrence of flare-ups.

Prescription gels and creams are available from your GP or dermatologist. These are applied directly to the affected area to lessen redness and spots.

Female doctor speaking to red haired patient - Rosacea

Oral medications can also be prescribed by your medical professional, such as antibiotics. These are usually only used for severe rosacea over a short period of time.

Alternative procedures such as intense pulsed light (IPL) and laser treatment have been found to help some sufferers of rosacea. These treatments are offered privately at many cosmetic clinics without a referral.

Rosacea and Blepharitis

It’s incredibly common for people who suffer from skin inflammation, such as rosacea and eczema to periodically develop blepharitis too. Blepharitis can come and go and is characterised by itchy, sore, red eyelids and flakes along your lash line.

The good news is that blepharitis is much easier to get rid of than rosacea. Wash your eyelids each day using a warm, wet flannel. It can help to leave the flannel on your eyes for 10 minutes to loosen up and flakes and then massage the skin around your lashes to remove the buildup. By doing this frequently, your eyes will soon be clear.

The Best Skincare Routine for Rosacea

As we’ve mentioned before, the most important factor when it comes to dealing with rosacea is a ‘softly softly’ approach. It doesn’t take much to irritate rosacea-prone skin, so opt for gentle products wherever possible.

Cleansing

We recommend cleansing your skin twice daily using a gentle, soap-free cleanser. Look for cleansers which have a neutral pH, and avoid anything that lists fragrances or alcohol among its ingredients*. A suitable example is the Darphin Azahar Cleansing Micellar Water, or if you prefer a slightly creamier cleanser, the Manuka Doctor Anti-Redness Cream Cleanser is another great option.

Darphin Azahar Cleansing Micellar Water - Rosacea

After cleansing, rinse your face with warm water and pat dry, ensuring the skin is completely dry before applying any topical medications.

While we recommend avoiding the use of toners for rosacea-prone skin, you should particularly be wary of any which contain astringent ingredients such as sodium lauryl sulphate, lanolin, witch hazel, menthol, camphor, peppermint and clove oil.

*Some alcohols are not drying, but are instead used to stop products from separating, such as cetearyl alcohol.

Moisturising

If your skin feels tight or sore, using a moisturiser can provide much-needed relief. Choose a product which is targeted at sensitive skin; it will usually be noted as being fragrance-free and hypoallergenic. Simply being ‘dermatologically-tested’ won’t cut it for skin that is prone to rosacea.

We recommend the 100% natural Balance Me Rose Otto Face Oil which contains a host of nourishing oils and has been formulated specifically for sensitive, reactive and dry skin. You may also want to pair this with a heavier cream on top, such as Dermaskin from Salcura’s Bioskin range. Containing Omega’s 3 and 6, as well as Vitamin C, E and a combination of natural oils, Dermaskin gives skin a rich protective base.

Balance Me Rose Otto Face Oil - Rosacea

Night-time Moisturising

At night, you may wish to pair your Balance Me Rose Otto Face Oil with something even heavier, to work on repairing your skin as you sleep. Love CBD Balm is a thick base of shea and coconut butter, infused with grapeseed oil, rosemary and CBD oil. Making waves in the scientific community for its powerful anti-inflammatory properties, CBD is one of the fastest-growing ingredients in skincare.

Make-Up For Rosacea

When it comes to choosing a foundation to cover your rosacea there are a few key features to look for. A good foundation needs to have the ability to build layers – this will allow you to get the right coverage without that full-face ‘caked’ look. Your foundation should also have ingredients that actively help your rosacea, not just cover it up. It should also be free of any potential irritants to ensure it doesn’t do more harm than good.

A few of our favourite foundations that tick all the above boxes are:

Clinique Redness Solutions Foundation SPF15 has been designed by skincare experts to reduce redness while using probiotic technology to enhance skin health. Not only does it give great coverage, its formulation actually helps to improve the appearance of your rosacea from the inside out.

Clinique Redness Solutions Foundation SPF15 - Rosacea

Using a combination of minerals and pigments, Perricone MD No Makeup Foundation Serum SPF30’s ‘one-tone’ foundation is buildable with a semi-matte finish. The neuropeptides contained in the product can help with inflammation, while the SPF30 will give you total peace of mind.

Perricone MD No Makeup Foundation Serum SPF30 - Rosacea

If you prefer a truly natural foundation, bareMinerals Original Foundation SPF15 may be just the product for you. This original formula uses just five minerals to give buildable coverage in a wide range of colours.

Behind The Scenes Of One Of Prada’s Most Iconic Fragrances

If you love fragrance, you’ll already know that Prada is a giant in the perfume industry, bringing delicately balanced creations from their Italian perfumery into homes around the world. Effortlessly wearable and with an unmistakable aura of luxury, Prada offers the ultimate adventure for the senses.

We thought this would be a great opportunity to take you behind the scenes of one of Prada’s most acclaimed perfumes, Prada Luna Rossa Carbon.

The Prada Touch

From the runaway success of L’Homme Prada to the cult following of Prada Candy, the Prada brand has been synonymous with luxury since the establishment of their fashion house in 1913.

From beginnings rooted firmly in women’s fashion, Prada has expanded into designer footwear, leather bags, art, architecture and of course, perfume.

Their ability to transcend the trendy and reinterpret the status quo has resulted in a global brand which focuses on quality over quantity. Prada Luna Rossa Carbon is another in Prada’s long line of iconic additions to the world of fashion and beauty, here’s everything you need to know.

Prada Luna Rossa, When Substance Matters

The official fragrance of the America’s Cup, Prada Luna Rossa was inspired by CEO Patrizio Bertelli’s love of sailing. In fact, so passionate about sailing is Mr Bertelli that in 1997 ‘Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team’ entered the race for the America’s Cup and in 2017 it was announced that Prada will be the hosting sponsor of the 2021 America’s Cup event held in New Zealand.

Unsurprisingly, the classic Prada Luna Rossa fragrance is inspired by all things nautical, from sailing boats to marine flora. Since the release of the first Prada Luna Rossa fragrance in 2012, there have been a handful of further interpretations of the scent, each with a different

twist. While each of the award-winning Prada Luna Rossa range is unique, they are all connected by their fresh, organic, sensual subtlety.

The classic Prada Luna Rossa has top notes of lavender and bitter orange, while ‘Prada Luna Rossa Sport’ is a warmer variant including ginger and juniper. ‘Prada Luna Rossa Blackoffers a heavier fragrance with amber and bergamot, while ‘Prada Luna Rossa Carbon’ sets itself apart for introducing a more engineered, high-tech element to the scent.

Having quickly garnered a global following, Prada Luna Rossa Carbon has become a best-selling fragrance and is a firm allbeauty favourite.

Prada Luna Rossa Carbon – Your New Signature Scent?

Intrigued by the newest Prada Luna Rossa fragrance? Here’s everything you need to know to decide if it’s the perfect signature scent for you (spoiler alert: it probably is.

Prada Luna Rossa Carbon has a complex list of notes which combine to create a fougère fragrance which is spicy and aromatic. The notes which are most pronounced are ambroxan, lavender and metal – which dry down to a light, refreshing scent that is equally reminiscent of nature and industry.

Top Notes: Bergamot, Pepper

Mid Notes: Lavender, Soil, Water, Metal, Coal

Base Notes: Patchouli, Ambroxan

Unlike many other masculine fragrances which fall squarely into either formal or casual, Prada Luna Rossa Carbon is serious enough for business but light enough for pleasure. It’s a fragrance guaranteed to send compliments in your direction.

Prada’s Luna Rossa Carbon has rightly earned its place as a prestige fragrance, appealing to men from all walks of life. It’s refined, modern take on classic perfumery makes it an incredibly versatile fragrance, capable of taking you from the boardroom to Sunday brunch, and everywhere in between.

Prada Luna Rossa Carbon is available in 50ml and 150ml bottles.

What’s The Difference?

We love a bit of jargon busting at allbeauty, so today’s blog is one we’ve been looking forward to writing for a while. The beauty industry can be a daunting place if you don’t know your CC from your BB and your serums from your tonics – but it needn’t be as confusing as it seems.

If you’ve ever found yourself staring blankly at a row of similar looking products wondering what on earth makes them different, you’re in the right place.

Cleansers

Main types: Cream, Gel, Foam, Water, Milk

A cleanser is a cleanser, right? Wrong. Sort of. While all cleansers do the same basic job, their different consistencies affect how they work on your skin.

  • While the heavier cream and gel cleansers are better suited for removing makeup and SPF from your skin, the lighter cleansers are best used for a second cleanse to remove any final traces.
  • Cleansing water or milk is also better suited for sensitive skin as they tend to be developed to be gentler on the skin. Technically, you could use cleansing milk to take off your makeup and SPF, but it’s going to have to work much harder than a cream cleanser would.
  • You certainly don’t need one of every variety of cleanser, but ideally, you’d have both a heavy and light cleanser in your bathroom cabinet to cover your bases.

Skincare

Main types: Oil, Serum, Tonic, Balm

Skincare is one of those categories which come with a diverse range of language. Along with the usual list of lotions and creams, come tonics, balms, oils and serums. What’s what when it comes to skincare?

  • Oil may seem like an odd thing to use on your skin, particularly if you’re of an oily disposition, but a good quality natural beauty oil can be your skin’s best friend. Hydrating and moisturising, oil not only absorbs easily into dry skin, but can also help to regulate oil production. Use in place of, or underneath, moisturiser for a hydration boost.
  • Serum’s are designed to target specific skin complaints. Rosacea? Dehydration? Fine-lines? There’s a serum for that. Lighter than a cream and easily absorbed into the skin, they’re best applied after cleansing and before moisturising.
  • Tonic is essentially the same as toner. Now, there are sometimes subtle differences between the two, but these are changeable between brands and formulas. A tonic or toner is used post-cleansing and pre-moisturising to minimise pores and get your skin squeaky clean. If you’re using a toner already, you don’t need to rush out and purchase a tonic.
  • Balm is the heavy-duty alternative to moisturiser for when a light cream just won’t cut it. Often formulated with dominant ingredients of oil and beeswax, balms offer a heavier layer than other skincare products. Best used overnight or as a 30-minute mask, balms nourish your skin deeply but are too heavy for daily wear except on those problematic dry patches.

Face

Main types: BB, CC, Tinted Moisturiser, Foundation

There are so many options for skin coverage that it can be hard to keep up with the terminology. To best understand how the main types of makeup differ, let’s start at full coverage and work our way backwards.

  • Foundation is a pigmented cream used to even out skin tone and provide a flawless base of colour. While foundation itself comes in different levels of coverage, for the sake of our article, we’ll say that foundation is at the top end of the spectrum.
  • CC Cream is a step down from foundation in terms of coverage. It balances skin tone and reduces redness like a foundation, but will often include other skincare benefits, such as hydration and an SPF. While all CC creams will have different pigments, in general they are less pigmented than foundation.
  • BB Cream combines skincare with light coverage. Essentially, wearing BB cream is like putting on an SPF, a serum, and a moisturiser, while getting the benefits of a more even complexion. They’re a great option for days you can’t be bothered with make-up, or for the woman who feels self-conscious in full foundation.
  • Tinted Moisturiser is considered by many to be a dying breed. Less coverage than a BB cream, and lacking in the additional skincare benefits, tinted moisturiser simply gives you hydration with a sheer cover.

Fragrance

Main types: Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum, Parfum

All fragrances are created by combining concentrated oils with an alcohol and water base. The stronger the ratio of oils, the stronger the scent.

  • Parfum has the highest concentration, boasting around 30% fragrance – this makes it the most expensive fragrance option, but also the longest lasting. Parfums are fairly rare in most fragrance circles, with the majority of women preferring something easier to wear.
  • Eau de Parfum is what most people think of when they consider women’s perfume. At around 15% oil, the scent of an Eau de Parfum will last upwards of 4 hours, making it ideal for an evening out.
  • Eau de Toilette is a weaker concentration still, which makes it fantastic for day-wear, especially if you don’t mind topping it up as needed. Eau de Toilette sits lighter on the skin, making it easier to wear if you prefer subtlety over statement.

Masks

Whether homemade or store-bought, a mask is a great way to indulge in a little pampering, making them a staple product for any girls’ night in. But what makes a mask different from any other product?

  • Sheet masks are everywhere right now. They’ve been a favourite amongst beauty bloggers and product reviewers throughout 2019 and are showing no signs of stopping. A Korean phenomenon, sheet masks come in a face-shaped delivery system, pre-loaded with skin-nourishing ingredients. Self-care doesn’t get much easier than this.
  • Face masks have been kicked from the top position by sheet masks, but offer similar benefits. The product is applied manually to your face and usually either washed or peeled off after a set time. Face masks can be exfoliating, hydrating, or clarifying – there’s something for everyone.
  • Hair masks are a must for anyone with dry, damaged, coarse, curly or frizzy hair. Similar to a heavy-duty conditioner, hair masks are packed with smoothing, nourishing and hydrating properties, with additional ingredients based on specific hair type. Adding a weekly hair mask into your routine can make a huge difference to distressed locks.
  • Foot masks are a perfect addition to the at-home pedicure. Available as a scrub, lotion or sheet mask, they provide exfoliation and moisturisation to the hardest working part of your body. The sheet-style foot masks are particularly popular at the moment and come in the form of a pair of pre-loaded booties; slip them on for the ultimate in easy pampering.

Inside a Winter Scent

Our sense of smell is inextricably linked to memory. Whether it’s freshly cooked biscuits like Mum used to make, that sweet smell of a baby’s head, or the combination of orange and clove at Christmas, one of the ways we reminisce is through aroma. It makes sense then, that people search for their ‘signature scent’, that cologne which becomes so synonymous with its wearer that one is reminded of them at the smallest sniff.

Whether you’re still searching out your signature fragrance or have one you wear year-round, this post is for you.

Why one signature fragrance isn’t enough.

Summer perfumes, with their fresh and citrus notes, are best worn when the days are warm as their lighter notes are projected by the heat in the air; these subtle elements are too easily muted by cold weather. Conversely, winter fragrances typically include heavier notes and larger molecules, allowing them to better project off the skin and carry beyond those thick winter scarves.

If you try to make a summer fragrance perform over winter, you’re fighting a losing battle.

How to find your winter scent.

Fragrances can be classified into one of eight families: Aromatic, Chypre, Citrus, Floral, Fougère, Leather, Oriental And Woody. Each category can be further split into multiple sub-families and with such a broad range of fragrances, there’s a scent for every season.

If you’re searching for your winter signature scent and are overwhelmed by the options, you may want to pinpoint a subfamily and start from there.  Two of our favourite options for a winter fragrance are Woody Musk and Spicy Oriental.

Woody Musks can be either floral or fruity and may have notes of sandalwood, pine, patchouli, vetiver or cedarwood.

Spicy Oriental Ambers combines spices like cinnamon and cloves with woods including sandalwood and atlas cedar.

Other notes that lend themselves fabulously to a winter perfume are ginger, nutmeg, star anise, vanilla, amber, myrrh and resin.

If all of this information is making your head spin – the allbeauty team has you covered.

Our favourite winter scents…

Shopping for a new fragrance needn’t be an arduous task. If you want a short shortlist, why not try one of these top picks.

For Women

#1 With fruity top notes of apricot and pomegranate, this may not immediately seem like a winter perfume, however, the base notes of Diesel’s Loverdose Red Kiss provide a heavy base that offsets the lighter notes perfectly. With patchouli, vanilla and sandalwood, you’re sure to love this sensuous scent.

#2 Award-winning and a firm favourite with allbeauty customers, Estée Lauder Knowing combines florals with creamy woods to create a seductive fragrance that you’ll adore. Amber and sandalwood dominate the base notes, while Rose and Plum balance out the top notes.

#3 A more winter-friendly version of their classic Lady Million perfume, Lady Million Prive by Paco Rabanne is a delightful combination of woody notes, sweetened with honey, cacao, vanilla, and a touch of raspberry. Good enough to eat!

#4  A truly glamorous fragrance, Roberto Cavalli’s Nero Assoluto is a velvety scent which features orchid, vanilla and citrus juxtaposed against wood and ebony base notes.

For Men

#1 Wanted by Azzaro is an award-winning fragrance for men that combines fresh top notes of lemon and ginger with heavier middle and base notes. The scents of cardamom, vetiver and tonka bean make this a great winter scent.

#2 Another fantastic fragrance, this time from Boucheron, Quatre Absolu De Nuit Pour Homme sits within the spicy wood family and has notes of clary sage, lavender, nutmeg, black pepper, atlas cedar and vanilla.

#4 Boss brings us Boss Bottled Oud Saffron, a sensuous scent that features saffron, rose, and oud – some consider this to be unisex due it’s effortless combination of masculine depths with warm florals.

#5 Award-winning L’eau D’issey Pour Homme by Issey Miyake is a classic scent that is incredibly versatile. A woody aquatic, it features top notes of juniper and bergamot with sage, vetiver, nutmeg, moss, cedar and sandalwood.

INTRODUCING BOSS THE SCENT ABSOLUTE

MAGNETIC. DARING. SENSORIAL. UNEXPECTED.

Push the senses to the next level with BOSS THE SCENT Absolute: two new, intensely seductive
fragrances For Him and For Her, darker, richer interpretations of the original scents. The story
of #AugmentedSensuality continues as BOSS Parfums introduces the next phase of the sensorial
journey.

A LEGACY OF SEDUCTION

The 2018 campaign of BOSS Parfums illustrated the transcendental power of BOSS THE SCENT
in the digital age. Surpassing borders and igniting our deepest desire to disconnect from our
online lives and connect once again in the real world. In this new chapter of the
#AugmentedSensuality journey, “The Passion”, our duo push their relationship one step further
by challenging their senses to go deeper and live an absolute night.

THE SENSES AT NIGHT

In this fast-paced world full of distractions, we seek stronger connections. Memorable. Lasting.
Sensorial. As night falls, it brings more daring, unexpected ways for us to fully explore our
senses. Heightened by the intrigue of dusk, the next chapter of #AugmentedSensuality unfolds.
Under the cloak of darkness, they experiment with new, stimulating sensations, reaching a new
level together.

NEXT LEVEL SENSATIONS

Reprising their roles, Jamie Dornan and Birgit Kos come together again as the BOSS man and
woman.  Tonight is the night to discover and explore. To challenge each other, experimenting
with new sensations to feel something new. Together.  More intimate, magnetic and seductive. Pushing all their senses to the excess for a night of absoluteness, they play with light and music, whispering to each other, the sound of
ice crackling, sending a shooting tingling up their spines. With a caress of the hand and a stroke
of the hair, the thrill of each other’s presence becomes electric. The warmth of the other, the
anticipation of getting closer, magnified by the sound of their voices and the smell of each
other’s scents.

BOSS THE SCENT ABSOLUTE: FOR HIM AND FOR HER

Crafted by perfumer Bruno Jovanovic, BOSS THE SCENT Absolute For Him opens with a spicy
Ginger freshness that meets with the aphrodisiac heart notes of Mondia root and Maninka fruit,
while a deeply masculine and ruggedly coarse Vetiver shines at the base. The most sensual
expedition for BOSS THE SCENT so far, the dark amber juice is housed within a dark taupe flacon
and finished with a dark metallic cap.

Crafted by perfumer Louise Turner, BOSS THE SCENT Absolute For Her opens with a creamy
Honeyed Peach note, which cuts through the warming heart of roasted Coffee. In the base, a
smooth and feminine Vanilla envelops the more masculine Vetiver to create a magnetic
addiction. More mysterious and darker than its original counterpoint, this rich and intense
interpretation offers a level of absoluteness. An extreme. The scent is presented in a glass
flacon featuring a dark plum gradient and finished with a dark bronze cap.
